Buste en bronze de Mathurin Moreau à cinq patines d’origine, à trois dorures différentes, représentant une divinité Romaine coiffée d’une couronne de roses à patine rouge avec leur feuillage à patine légèrement verte, d’époque fin XIXe ou tout début XXe, portant la signature « Math. Moreau» et le cachet du fondeur «Jollet et Cie bronze Colin et Cie» .
Il possède une très grande qualité de bronze et de ciselure.
Il repose sur un socle balustre en marbre vert des Pyrénées.
Mathurin Moreau fait partie d’une famille de sculpteurs dont il est le plus célèbre.
Fils et élève de Jean-Baptiste Moreau, ses deux frères, Hippolyte-François et Louis-Auguste sont également sculpteurs. Il obtient de nombreux prix et de nombreuses distinctions. L’œuvre de Mathurin Moreau participe à des monuments célèbres à Paris, l’Opéra, le Palais de justice,. L’hôtel de ville, les Tuileries, etc.…

Bronze bust with five original patinas, with three different gildings, representing a Roman deity wearing a crown of roses with red patina with their foliage with slightly green patina, vintage late 19th or early 20th century, bearing the signature "Math. Moreau" and the stamp of the founder "Jollet et Cie bronze Colin et Cie". It has a very high quality of bronze and carving. It rests on a baluster base in green marble from the Pyrenees.
